Art and Museums

Zurich has already been synonymous with art. It must be said that Zurich is a haven for artists and writers, and much of this must be blamed for the artistic atmosphere that blankets the city. Zurich is the home of nearly 50 museums. Art trade is also flourishing in this charming city. The re-opening of Cabaret Voltaire in Zürich’s Old Town in October 2004 after being closed for 90 years, marked a new artistic era in the city. The Kunsthaus, for example is one of Europe’s most celebrated museums and of course, its location is at the heart of the city of Zurich.

Zurich Operahaus

The Zurich Operahaus in Falkenstrasse 1, Zurich is considered as one of the world’s most prestigious theateres. The special atmosphere around the operahaus never fails to leave its guests speechless. Staging around 300 ballet and opera performances, the Operahaus conducts performances by renowned classical artists like Mozart, Beethoven, Tchaikovsky and Strauss.
