Zurich’s Sechseläuten

The Sechseläuten is Zurich’s spring break holiday.  It was traditionally held on the first Monday after the vernal equinox, but later on, it was moved to every May 1, on May Day.  The Sechseläuten opens with the burning of the Böögg, and it is said that the length of time it takes for the Böögg to explode is an indicator of the weather for the entire summer in Zurich.
